500/501 FRENCH I

Prerequisites: 9th – 25th percentile or above on the English section of the High School Placement Test or prior language studies at the middle school level.
This introductory class aims to attain a limited proficiency in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing within the context of the contemporary French-speaking world. Emphasis is on everyday conversation with a sound foundation in the basics of French grammar. Student participation is an integral part of the class. In addition, students become acquainted with French-speaking countries and regions.
